RUNWAY Charity Fashion Show for Hospice Wellington on
May 6th, 2017 @ Hanlon Convention Centre, Guelph, ON.
We are very proud to announce we will be the official photography sponsor of “RUNWAY” a charity fashion show hosted by Hospice Wellington and curated by Creative Director Derrick Rutherford & Artistic Director Julio Rodriguez of Valentini Hair Design & Spa. This event is also known as “Embracing Beauty”. This years, RUNWAY, will be held on May 6th and we’re back again at the Hanlon Convention Centre!
Runway, Hospice Wellington’s new Signature Fashion Event brings the excitement of New York Fashion Week to the streets of Guelph. Improving on the success of Valentini Hair Design’s annual Embracing Beauty event, this evening will be nothing short of spectacular.
The creative talents of Derrick Rutherford and Julio Rodriguez will thoroughly entertain you.”
Back in 2016, we co-sponsored with Studio 404 for photography services and had a blast shooting the Red Carpet and most of all, the fashion show. I have an incredible collection of photos and owe a huge thank you to Derek, Julio and their team for making my job easier. The fashion and models were exceptional and we had a beautiful backdrop thanks to HR Entertainment and Hanlon Convention Centre. It was an honor to be apart of this event for so many reasons and I was so happy to see all the hard work everyone put in to the event had paid off. The show raised over $60,000 net for Hospice Wellington!
We love getting involved with charity events especially, one so unique. But, we don’t just select any charity, there has to be a close connection. I, fortunately & unfortunately, got to experience the dedication, love and compassion from the team at Hospice a few years ago. My Auntie had a stroke and spent her last 2 weeks at their facility. It was a hard time for everyone in our family. Thanks to Hospice, it made it a little easier to say goodbye to her. Instead, we were all able to come together as a family, appreciate and celebrate her life by her side. I could never imagine working in a place like that but I am truly grateful for those who do. (I’ve been getting teary eyed just thinking and writing this.) It was a life changing experience and they made dealing with the hard times of saying goodbye a lot easier and I am forever grateful for that.
It’s events like this that allow Hospice to continue the work they do. I encourage all of you to do what you can to help them grow. Buy a ticket, donate at the event, volunteer at their facility or even just send them a couple dollars. A little can go a long way!
Here’s a quick look at last years show! I can’t wait to see what they will come up with this time! There will be more to come so make sure you are following and engaging with us on social media!
